A good t-shirt and jeans combo is a classic look that I think we all know, love and wear. But as a big fan and owner of several graphic tees, I think we can get a little more creative with this closet staple!
Last month I introduced my new style series, Already In Your Closet, where I share three new ways to style a piece that most of you probably already own! Click here to read how I styled denim jackets.
This time I’m taking my favorite graphic tees for a spin and showing you three ways to style them that are fun, unexpected and effortlessly cool (at least I like to think so).
I love love love graphic tees because they’re versatile, comfortable and add a “cool girl” factor to any look. They’re great for dressing down busier pieces and make any outfit more appropriate for “day”. Here are my favorite ways to style them:
WITH A MIDI SKIRT
Sometimes you want to be a little extra with a metallic pleated skirt, ya know? No, just me?
I love midi skirts but they can obviously feel a little formal for an everyday look so my favorite trick for “dressing them down” is adding a cute graphic tee. I tuck it in and voila, you’re ready for brunch with the girls or even work if you have a fun dress code.
I added some cute white booties to give the look some height (a short girl necessity when it comes to long skirts) and threw on my cropped moto jacket. I think the whole thing feels very fun and playful.

OVER A JUMPSUIT
I’m very into jumpsuits but in the fall/winter, it’s easy to neglect the ones we wore on repeat all summer. A great hack is to layer a graphic tee over them! I love how tying a tee can extenuate the waist.
I wore this black skull graphic tee over my favorite denim jumpsuit with some leopard booties. Don’t be afraid to do it with a printed jumpsuit too! Perfect for a coffee date or casual Friday at work.

UNDER A BLAZER
Of course, we love a jeans and t-shirt moment as I mentioned before, but there’s a way to make it a little more interesting.
Adding a fun blazer over your look dresses it up for work or happy hour without making you look over the top. I love to add some sneakers to keep everything cool and understated. I love this pink velvet blazer more than life itself and find it to be the perfect way to spice up my look.
