It’s that time of year to start riffling through your closets for the perfect Valentine’s Day outfit. February 14 is right around the corner and everyone is either loving it or hating it. Depending on your relationship status you may be gearing up for a romantic dinner or stocking up on wine and jelly beans. Personally I love Valentine’s Day even when I’m not in a relationship because I think it gives you a fun opportunity to get together with your girlfriends and show them some love. I really don’t take it very seriously. It’s a time of year where brands bring out pretty new collections, romcoms can be found on any channel and splurging on lacey lingerie is encouraged. Single or not, no reason to get mad at it.
No matter how you’re spending your Valentine’s Day, the universal question of “what to wear?” is probably still hanging over you. Well ladies, I created three different Valentine’s Day outfits that will wow your date, impress your galentines and make you feel your best. You should always be number one anyway.
VALENTINE’S DAY OUTFIT #1: FEMININE & DELICATE
If you’re preparing for a romantic evening with someone you love and you really want to play up the feminine vibes then this outfit is for you. This gorgeous rosey blush dress is so sweet and romantic. I love lace and intricate details so when I saw this dress at a pop up shop in the mall I work in I had to snag it. It was such a pleasant surprise to see that it was from Lombard And Fifth, one of my favorite blogs and now one of my favorite lines! The dress is currently sold out but the entire L&F line is just as feminine and pretty, so check it out here. If you love pastels as much as I do you’ll want to add everything to your cart. I think this dress would be beautiful with some strappy nude heels but I opted for my pretty pink ballet flats to really emphasize this sweet look. This adorable heart shaped clutch is an oldie from Victoria’s Secret (random!) and my knitted moto jacket is from Express. You know your girl likes to keep it simple with the gold jewelry so you’ll see the usual suspects on my wrists.
VALENTINE’S DAY OUTFIT #2: SOPHISTICATED & SEXY
Want something a little bit more sultry and a little less pink? Bring out your favorite LBD for date night. I loved this sexy velvet romper from Express so much I’ve had it on my mannequin for over a month. The fabrication makes it glamorous and on trend but the style is simple and sleek. You can absolutely go braless and let the girls do their thing but I preferred to have a little bit more coverage. So I threw on one of my favorite lacey black bralettes underneath. You can definitely go all black with your accessories but I wanted to incorporate a hint of V-day glam. I used my cute ballerina pink polka dot clutch from Kate Spade. These velvet heels add the right touch of drama with the sexy cut outs and gold piping. Plus they’re surprisingly comfortable to walk in. This outfit is not only sophisticated but it’s also insanely comfortable. Plus if you’re not interested in buying an entirely new outfit just reach for a loved black dress and let your accessories do all the work.
VALENTINE’S DAY OUTFIT #3: FUN & FLIRTY
If you’re like me and single AF or would just rather spend V-day with your girlfriends then pull out your fave body suit and some skinnies. There is nothing that excites my soul more than a girl’s night out. I love gossip. I love wine. I love appetizers. All of these things are usually involved so I live for those nights. Even when I’ve been in relationships I’ve always found myself way more excited to get dinner and drinks with my girls than with my boo. Is that rude? Sorry not sorry.
I just got these sexy high waisted skinny jeans from Express. I’m loving the criss cross detailing that goes down the leg. I paired them with a red lacey bodysuit and some black booties. This is one of my go-to looks for going out and I love it because it’s comfortable but still sexy. Of course I grabbed my Henri Bendel Rivington Mini Convertible Tote for this look because I find any excuse to style it. If you wanted to tone down the sex appeal (aka cleavage) then a sheer button up and a cute bralette would be a great alternative.
