I think we can all agree that looking back at old photos of how we use to dress can be a tad cringy, to say the least! Unless you’ve always been a style icon, in which case, good for you.
I’ve been reflecting a lot on how much my overall style (hair, makeup, clothes) has changed over the past 10 years and while a lot has changed, some things have actually stayed the same.

I wanted to take a look down memory lane and see how much my style has evolved over the years and which pieces I would still 100% wear today. Plus we can all laugh at my thin eyebrows. Enjoy!
*Note: These outfits are OLD or are already linked on my shop page so I’m not going to link anything here 🙂 I doubt you would want to wear most of them anyway, ha!
2010
2010 Sheila was 16 and thought of herself as quite the fashionista and would spend her KFC paychecks online shopping at the likes of Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe. Those glasses I’m wearing below were definitely a mood.
I loved that little sundress I’m wearing so much but obviously wouldn’t dare leave the house without an undershirt so this purple tank top was the move. I’ve always loved mixing prints so here we are with this gray houndstooth number. Yikes!
2011
My senior year of high school was the year I got a $0.25 raise at KFC so I bought even more clothes. My style continued to be all over the map. I will say I continue to have an equal love for very feminine pieces and “grungier” looks (aka leather jackets and boots). Peep my low rise jeans and chunky peace sign bracelet in the last pic! The epitome of cool (insert monkey covering eyes emoji).
2012
My freshmen year of college brought along some more casual outfit choices as well as some really questionable moments as seen below. Clearly this is pre french tuck mania. I became a big fan of flowy tops and fitted cardigans but always loved a pop (or two or three) of color.
2013
Things really began to get interesting in 2013! My introduction to Nasty Gal and a spunky “short” haircut. I actually still have that dress, white lace top and skeleton skirt in my closet. Maybe it’s time for a cleanout?
Also that skinny black studded belt I’m wearing with my dress was my favorite accessory. I wore it with everything.
2014
My style began to become a little more cohesive in 2014 as I was introduced to what is still one of my favorite stores, Express. Two of my best friends loved it and we would have shopping dates there often. This is also how my friend Brooke and I ended up having a pretty much the same wardrobe as we often liked the same exact things and would both get them.
I also began taking blog photos that weren’t just mirror selfies!
2015
Just when we were getting it together 2015 showed up and things got weird again! Lots of fringe and plaid and short skirts and very long skirts and that skinny studded black belt still coming along for the ride.
2016
2016 is definitely a turning point as I continued to wear some weird things but also transitioned into what my style is today. The first few pics are from my Mardi Gras trip so obviously things are a little more “interesting” in terms of style. However, I did begin to move onto a jeans/cute top/booties/great jacket outfit formula that is still the basis of most of my everyday looks today.
2017
From here on out I will say that I pretty much still own and love everything I’m wearing! Things began to come together and while I do think my style has become more consistent I think I will always love variety and can’t say my style fits into any one category.
2018
2018 was an interesting year for my style because at the beginning of it I was feeling not so great after having gained a lot of weight but then lost it all and got into shape halfway through and decided everyone in the world needed to see my midriff. Not gonna lie, I still love a crop top moment and often tie my shirts up.
2019
2019 was a tough year for me in a lot of ways but it also really helped me get back on track with my goals and my blog. I didn’t take very many blog pics but I really like where my style ended up. Lots of high waisted denim with cool graphic tees and pops of color! Plus the highest of high pony’s became my go-to hairstyle LOL.
2020
And here we are in 2020! I do plan on shooting more style photos this year but for now, my mirror selfies are what I’m working with.
I love graphic tees and fun prints and denim. My everyday style is more laid back and but it still feels like me. I still love statement pieces but have come to really value the simple staples that make up my wardrobe and allow me to create casual outfits on the fly.
How has your style evolved? Tell me in the comments and thanks for reading 🙂
