What a fun week! Some out of the ordinary special occasions mixed in with some mundane everyday bs which resulted in some cute fall lewks!
I had a wonderful weekend with my parents and then in Oakland with my boo (pasta + wine = the perfect date) and am now feeling very happy and very full.
Here’s what I wore this week! You can shop similar options at the bottom of the post.
MONDAY
Monday I really thought I had it going on. I felt like a cute 80’s girl next door in my corduroy overalls and striped ribbed long sleeve. I threw on my comfy white Adidas and went on with my day.
Until a reader pointed out I looked like Chucky 🙂
And I mean, she’s not wrong. In fact, she’s SO right. While it certainly wasn’t what I was going for, it did absolutely make me laugh and feel like a creep all day.
TUESDAY
I have to say I wasn’t that into this outfit. Does that ever happen to you? You pick something out and then once you’re out the door you realize you don’t like it. I think I needed jeans that were a bit more fitted or high waisted since the top was kind of billowing out even when tucked in. Eh, you win some, you lose some!
I tucked in this cute lacey ginger-colored top into some comfy vintage skinny jeans from Express. It was chilly last week so I grabbed my black and white striped cardigan and added a black belt and black booties to pull the look together.
That day was not at all exciting but that evening was a delight!
I took my cute cousin out to a fancy dinner for her birthday and it was so fun! We both tried to channel our inner rich divorcé with over-the-top coats and dark lipstick. We went to my favorite restaurant (in my defense I did ask her if she’d like to go and she was excited!) Flour + Water and did the pasta tasting with the wine pairing. It was divine and I have never felt more fabulous in my life.
I wore this sassy leopard print coat over a black and emerald lacey top and black high waisted jeans. I wore black booties and used my favorite gold Henri Bendel (RIP) satchel for the night out. I threw on some gold tassel earrings and called it a lewk!
WEDNESDAY
Wednesday was a humbling experience as I woke up not feeling like a woman with a solid life insurance claim on her husband and much more like a sad little sack of garbage because it turns out 26 comes with worse hangovers. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
I had no choice but to throw on a super soft fringe sweater and my most worn in distressed denim. Plus sneakers, because duh.
I spent the day guzzling water and trying to get away with wearing my sunglasses indoors.
THURSDAY
I traded in Wednesday’s comfy sweater look for another one with this drapy burgundy sweater and well-loved pair of girlfriend jeans. Plus these damn sneakers again. I am adding this gorg Henri Bendel jetsetter backpack to the mix to remind you that I am still stylish.
This is what happens when I don’t plan my outfits out over the weekends. I am forced to pick things out quickly and am usually cold in the mornings and all I want to do it is essentially wear my bed so a huge sweater and baggy jeans are what I gravitate towards. I will try to do better next week!
Thursday night I shared a bottle of wine (he drank most of it, I am a total drink babysitter) with my boyfriend while we caught up and then went to bed early. Did I mention that I have a boyfriend? Teehee.
FRIDAY
Friday’s look was kind of like what I wore on Thursday except…tighter. I wore a red ribbed turtleneck tucked into my most flattering high waisted skinny jeans and black booties.
That night I drove to Marin to have dinner with my cute parents and after attempting to stay up and have a drink with my mom we both decided to treat ourselves to an early bedtime and fell asleep by 8:30. It was glorious!
