As someone who lives in a city that is extremely focused on sustainability and eco friendly alternatives finding a way to support brands that care about the planet is important to me. While I still buy products from a huge variety of brands I do find my interest immediately piqued when I can find a great eco friendly alternative. If you’re looking for some new ethical beauty and fashion brands to support then check out the options below.
1. LUSH
Is there anyone in this world who doesn’t love Lush? Seriously. Bath bombs are the best thing that has ever happened to modern society. Lush has a plethora of amazing cosmetic products that are amazing for your skin and the environment. Not only is every product hand made to ensure quality, they’re all made from organic and sustainable ingredients that aren’t filled with toxic chemicals. Lush also is committed to fighting animal cruelty and abstains from animal testing. They also have such a great selection so you can truly find a product for any skin care need. Check out some of my favorite Lush products:
My all-time favorite is definitely the Mask of Magnaminty because it helps clear out toxins and debris from the skin gently. Clear pores equal smaller pores, which is definitely a big skincare concern for me! To learn more useful pore shrinking hacks check out this great article from Jen Reviews here!
2. TARTE
Tarte has always been in my top five favorite beauty brands. Any time they release a new line I’m immediately adding it to my cart or running to Sephora to swatch everything. I have never disliked a Tarte product and will continue to be a loyal customer. They have an amazing skin care line as well as makeup which is awesome because you’re able to get everything you need from one brand. Their palettes are pigmented and blendable and I find myself constantly incorporating new Tarte skin care into my routine. Aside from the amazing quality, Tarte does not participate in animal testing and believes in creating products without parabens or any other nasty ingredients that are harmful to the body and environment. To top it all off Tarte has the cutest packaging of all time, which shouldn’t matter but it’s still a nice bonus. They just released the cutest Unicorn collection that I’m dying over so go to their website asap before it’s gone. Here are a few of my all time favorite Tarte products:
3. LORAC
To this day if a friend asks me what palette she should try when she’s just starting to get into makeup I tell her she needs the Lorac Pro palette. It is an essential palette that everyone should have in their collection. I have been a big fan of Lorac since I bought that palette and loved how easy the shadows were to use. It’s such a staple with some many great mattes and shimmers that can be combined to create any look. I branched out and have curated quite the Lorac collection. Their shadows are still my favorite product because of their creamy consistency and great color pay off. However, I also love their lip products and bronzers. The best part is that the line was created for women who want to play around with makeup without having to use products that are damaging to their skin. Harsh chemicals and ingredients that irritate the skin can’t be found in any of Lorac’s products. They are also against animal cruelty and do not even accept ingredients from suppliers who test on animals. Check out some of my favorite products below:
4. HM
HM is every fashion girl’s affordable go to for beautiful basics and killer statement pieces that won’t break the bank. Something they’re also known for is their commitment to sourcing their materials in a sustainable way. From the cotton farms they source to their capsule collections featuring recycled materials, HM has made it clear their goal is to produce quality, affordable fashion that doesn’t negatively impact the planet. Just one more reason to love the brand, am I right? Check out my top picks from their newest collection:
5. ASOS ECO-EDIT
If you’re an online shopping addict like myself then you already know and love Asos. Now you can love it even more by shopping their “Eco-edit” section that curates several brands that focus on sustainability and eco-friendly materials. Asos has such a huge reach and presence across the world so it’s awesome to seem the brand using its influence to make a difference.
