We are hands down living in the year of the unicorn. From those bizarre sugar filled drinks (bleh) to every single unicorn themed product that seems to be popping up all over social media, they’re everywhere.
I’m certainly not mad at it. It gives me some serious Lisa Frank vibes, so what’s not to love?
My favorite interpretation of the trend is definitely this Tarte Make Believe in Yourself Collection. I died over the packaging when I saw it announced online and immediately ordered it once it became available. As always, Tarte’s formulas don’t disappoint and the product is just as beautiful as its packaging. Check out my full review below.
MAKE BELIEVE IN YOURSELF EYE & CHEEK PALETTE ($40)
This was a must get for me. I have a ton of Tarte palettes and have always been a fan of their shadows. These playful, whimsical shimmer shades are so pigmented and easy to work with. They are such a fun and easy way to add a splash of color to your every day look or go bold with a sparkly night out look. The center highlight shade, Believe, is my new favorite inner corner highlight. Such a pretty, iridescent pearly white that opens up your eyes and is the perfect finishing touch. I also appreciate that they threw in one matte transition shade with Myth. This palette is so fun and colorful, but to create any look you need a solid crease color you can blend out easily to pull everything together. A million thumbs up for this one.

SPELLBOUND GLOW RAINBOW HIGHLIGHTER ($30)
Tarte seriously killed it with the cuteness factor. This highlight is gorgeous. I love that they didn’t go traditional rainbow and kept it unique with pretty pastels. As for the actual formula, I was a little surprised at how subtle the finish is. I was expecting it to be a really intense glow but it’s actually very natural looking. You can definitely see it on the skin, but it leaves a dewy finish versus a shiny one. I love using this as my every day highlight but if I want to step it up I will layer a different one over it. A welcome addition to my collection but not what I would reach for if I was really trying to make heads turn.

MAGIC WANDS BRUSH SET ($39)
Another must get. If you can only purchase two things from this collection get the brushes and the palette. These are SO unbelievably pretty, I just love looking at them. My review for these is a little different because I have to confess I haven’t actually used them. I can’t bring myself to get them dirty and just throw them in my brush jar like they’re as basic as my other one. They’re too unique and beautiful. I am heavily considering ordering another set to use so I can keep this one on display. I know, I know. I’m being ridiculous. But if they’re anything like Tarte’s other brushes then I already know they’re amazing in terms of quality. I will update this post once I’ve received my other set and have actually used them. I’m sorry guys, I’m just really into aesthetics. They’re definitely a collectors item and I’m so obsessed with looking at them every day.
