It’s just about time for everyone to go back to school and realize within twenty minutes that oh yeah it’s school and no amount of outfit prepping or perfectly arched brows will change the fact that you’re spending hours in a musty classroom trying not to fall asleep. At least that was my experience, but I guess I wasn’t at all exactly what you would call a good student.
Whether you’re the type of girl (or guy) who loves to sit in the first row and stay after class to find out if the final exam will be cumulative or the type that creates straight up works of art out of the doodles you complete while the professor is going over the syllabus, I have 5 beauty must haves that will get you through the school day!
1. URBAN DECAY NAKED BASICS PALETTE ($29)
If you value sleep over having perfect makeup or just are NOT in the mood to blend excessively for 15 minutes before class, then this is the palette for you. Not only is it filled with gorgeous matte neutrals in every shade you need to create an everyday look, but it’s so small and compact that you can always throw it in your bag on your way out the door. Swipe Naked2 in the crease, Venus on the lid and Faint for added definition and you’re done! This palette may be called the Naked Basics, but there’s nothing basic about this bitch. Get it here.
2. BITE BEAUTY MATTE CREME LIP CRAYON ($24)
Want something that’s effortless to apply and lasts all day? Look no further than Bite Beauty, with their creamy matte formula that lasts for hours without drying out your lips like you’re in the Sahara. These are easy to use when trying to apply lipstick on the go and come in a variety of beautiful shades. My personal favorites for an everyday look are Leche and Tatin. Get them here! And if you’re wanting something a little bit more budget friendly then check out the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms (only $10) for a similar, less expensive option. Get them here.
3. L’OREAL TRUE MATCH SUPER-BLENDABLE CRAYON CONCEALER ($10)
Literally, this product saves my life every day. You know I love a bold lip, but after lunch that eggplant shade tends to move from my lips to my chin…and every other part of my face it doesn’t belong on. So to fix any lipstick mishaps, smokey eye spillage or a lovely new pimple gracing your forehead with its presence, I use my favorite spot concealer of all time. I use the shade in Fair/Light Neutral and it tends to blend really well with any foundation I use. The crayon application makes it easy to use in a hurry and a lot less messy than a liquid formula. Get it here!
4. CLINQUE LASH DOUBLING MASCARA ($18)
I can’t say enough good things about this mascara. It’s main purpose is to make your lashes look fuller but I personally think it does an amazing job of lengthening as well. I’m a firm believer that mascara and lip gloss can stand alone, so if you’re not someone to fuss with your makeup or you’re just in a hurry, a good mascara in your bag is a must. Not only does it open up your eyes and kinda, sorta make you look like you weren’t up all night drinking studying, but it can also be applied quickly using your phone camera as a mirror while you’re on the bus.
5. MARIO BADESCU FACIAL SPRAY WITH ALOE , HERB AND ROSE WATER ($5-$7)
We all have those days when we get to class feeling so cute with our makeup on point, only to feel smudgy and gross three classes later. That’s why you bring a makeup bag with you in the first place! If you’re looking for a way to quickly refresh your makeup in between study sessions then the Mario Badescu Facial Spray is your new BFF. Just a light spray over your face with give your skin the moisture it needs and keep you looking dewy and healthy. I recommend this even if you have oily skin, because it replenishes your skin and will keep it from overproducing more oil. Just use a blotting square first, conceal any redness, spray and you’re done! Makeup refreshed and ready to go. Plus the aloe and rose water is super soothing and can help relax you while you’re waiting in fear as you get your quiz back. I’m so obsessed with it that I don’t have a picture because I ran out of mine two days ago (should have kept the bottle, I know). The mini is only $5 and easy to travel with but the full size is only two dollars more if you’re wanting to keep one at home too! Get them here!
Good luck to all of you ladies (and gentlemen) out there hustling and getting those A’s! Or B’s. Or D’s, I don’t care. Just do your best!
What are you favorite beauty products to throw in your makeup bag? Tell me in the comments!

I am definitely going to try the rose water spray! I’m always so oily and shiny by the time I finish my 3rd class of the day.

Me too! And I have dry skin too, but I still get oily in my T-zone so this is a great product to keep your skin replenished so it doesn’t produce as much oil.
